Bikram Yoga

Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class is a 90 minute, 26 posture series designed to scientifically warm & stretch muscles, ligaments & tendons, in the order in which they should be stretched. The yoga gently guides the body into correct alignment, strengthens & tones the muscles, lubricates the joints, & promotes flexibility. It also provides tremendous benefits on the organs, glands, & fluids of the body by aiding in the release of toxins.

The 26 posture Bikram sequence systematically moves fresh, oxygenated blood to 100% of your body, building core strength while restoring all systems to healthy working order, just as Nature intended. Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health, & a sense of well-being will automatically follow. The focus & intensity of the class help to build mental clarity & determination.

The HEAT

Bikram Yoga is practiced in a heated room at 105 degrees & 40% humidity for 90 minutes. Practitioners will SWEAT a LOT! Don’t let this scare you, Bikram Yoga is meant for everyone. The heat is your friend & will promote flexibility & aid in detoxification.

Yoga changes the construction of the body from the inside out, from bones to skin & from fingertips to toes. Before you change it, you have to heat it up to soften it, because a warm body is a flexible body. Then you can reshape the body any way you want.

Hatha Yoga flushes away the waste products, the toxins of all the glands & organs of your body. It provides a natural irrigation of the body through the circulatory system, with the help of the respiratory system. It brings nourishment to every cell of your body so that each one can perform its function & keep your body healthy. Bikram Yoga employs heat to further that cleaning process: When you sweat, impurities are flushed out of the body through the skin.
